4 days ski camp in Stranda

After last 2 years successfull camps with Kaj Zackrisson & Sverre Liliequist we have changed the concept for this year and we´re going back to the ski resort. We´re just as stoked as last year to have Kaj & Sverre here for a long weekend of skiing.

First night we meet up at Stranda Hotel for presentation of the participants, coaches and guides for the weekend. For us its important to know your expectations and objectives with the camp. Here we also have the opportunity to go thru our equipment and see if anything are missing.

This first evening will also a lecture about companion rescue. The training with avalanche equipment we´ll take on Thursday morning, before the first trip.

Is this something for me?

The Camp is for everyone who’s keen on exploring the Sunnmøre alps and area around Stranda together with a bunch of happy skiers. This is not a camp intended as any extreme-skiing, but a camp for those who wants to have a good time in the snow. We have the ski legends Kaj & Sverre with us and then everything is settled for a lot of big laughs and possibilities to obey all their knowledge around skiing. Of course everyone will get their chance to push themselves, but we will split in different groups everyday based on level and goals for the day.

Ski professional for a day

One of the days during the camp we will team up with photographer Håvard Myklebust to make our own photosession. Håvards is the man behind many of our pictures on the website and also the guidebook “Toppturar i Sunnmørsalpene”. Kaj & Sverre have been starring in front of the kamera for several decades and now exactly how to perform a good turn. We will find a bunch of spots with good backdrop during the day so you can get a cool picture of yourself to put on the wall – sick huh?

Safety first!

As the first company in Norway we now offer avalanche backpacks to all our customers. If you ever get caught in an avalanche an avalanche backpack is the only thing that can increase the chance of survival. Our guide don´t take bigger risks because of these backpacks but we want to offer you all the safety-nets available on the market.

Check in at Stranda Hotel on Wednesday night and meet up with Kaj, Sverre and our guides at our office straight over the road. We will gather the whole crew and take a presentation of all the participants and the coaches. Here we also have time for some mingle and a lighter meal will be served for the whole group.

Here we will go thru all the equipment we need for the camp and see so everyone have what they need. Here we will hand out the avalanche equipment for those who don´t have their own. We will also have a section about companion rescue.

There are opportunities to purchase selected products from Kask, Mammut, Dynafit and Uteguiden´s other partners. We also have a good selection of ski touring equipment for those who need to rent for the camp.

After the breakfast buffé at the hotel our cars are ready to pick us up outside the hotel for a drive to Stranda ski resort.

After a introduction up at the resort we will split the whole group in two and focus on different stuff during the day. After lunch we´re switching coaches on the groups.  Throughout the whole camp our coaches and guides will help you to push you boundaries as much as possible.

Back down at the car again we go back to the hotel for a cold beer in the bar before we get ready for dinner.

We finish the day with a lecture by Kaj & Sverre.

New day to explore the ski resort in Stranda and to get our hands on some fresh tracks. We will divide ourself in smaller groups based on skills so that everyone will get the maximum out of each day. The possibilities for skiing around Stranda are really good and our guides and coaches will find you the best snow.

Today we´ll try to find some cliffs for those who´s ready to get some air under their skis.

Dinner at the hotel and socially hang out on the lobby bar after dinner.

Third day and time for some ski touring. Today we have possibilities to do a ski tour on some of the mountains around Stranda to get some fresh tracks.  We continue with the topics we´ve gone through in the days before and continues to develop them further.

Saturday means that Stova and Aprés ski is open at Stranda Skiresort, we finish the ski day up here we´re we can brag about the days achievements.

Afterwards we have a transport down to the hotel and dinner.

Last day of the camp and it´s time to push the last power out of our legs. This day we are going to do a tour that´s not to far away from Stranda just go have the possibility to don´t be to late back home for those who´s in a hurry.

Kaj Zackrisson

Kaj Zackrisson

Kaj has won Verbier Xtreme twice and you´ve seen him in numerous ski films and magazine covers. After the first 100 Salomon Freeski TV episodes, he was unanimously elected as the most popular rider through all those 7 years. There is rarely a dull moment with Kaj and he has inexhaustible resources of energy!

Sverre Liliequist

Sverre Liliequist

We are proud to present Sverre as our new coach for this year’s Ski touring camp at Stranda. Him have you seen in many Free Radicals and Swedish Posse movies. Sverre teaches you everything about backflips from high cliffs and skiing as quickly as possible down a mountain side – this is good!

Freeskiing camp 2016

What can we say, me and Ross are bruised, battered, aching after the weekends trip with Kaj, but what a weekend, it was AWESOME.  Such good fun, a great bunch of guys, great snow, amazing skiing, your man Johan was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and really friendly, constantly picking out good places and finding fresh tracks for us and on top of that we had the chance to ski with Kaj, it’s impressive to watch him go at mach 10 so effortlessly and his positivity and encouragement is infectious, it was just an all round fantastic weekend, a very cool set up, we thank you. – David Hallard
