Participation in hikes/courses in the winter mountains involves a certain risk of accidents and injuries. Uteguiden AS seeks to minimize this risk by letting well-qualified guides and instructors lead our tours and courses. Our guides must also commit to following our safety instructions. On our trips/courses, the guide(s) has the overall responsibility for the safety of the group. As much as possible, the tours and courses must be in line with the group’s prerequisites (physical shape, skills, experience, motivation, equipment, etc.). It is therefore important that the individual participant takes this into account when choosing and registering for a tour. Uteguiden AS cannot be held responsible for accidents, loss of equipment, or damage as a result of not following the instructions and guidelines from Uteguiden AS or our guides.
In order for the guide to be responsible for the safety of the group, all participants must be co-responsible and:
- Adhere to the guide’s guidelines during the entire trip/course
- Adjust to being a part of the group
- Follow the guide unless otherwise agreed
- Stop/wait at agreed places
Other important aspects of our trips/courses:
- It is important that the individual participant informs the guide(s) about illnesses and/or pains that may be relevant to safety during the trip/course.
- Participants are obliged to compensate for damage and/or self-inflicted loss of the equipment borrowed from Uteguiden AS.
- Any lawsuits against Uteguiden AS or Uteguiden’s guides must be made through the Norwegian judiciary and in accordance with Norwegian law.
