Our favorite area for snowshoeing! In Valldal you`ll find numerous spectacular hikes perfect for snowshoeing, and the area has also often the best snow condition in Sunnmøre. Our favorite hike here is Snowshoe hike to Peak Mefjellet and Hunting the Northern Light with snowshoes. What characterizes Valldal, is the spectacular landscape and the fact that the area is not highly visited during winter. This will give you an authentic, calm, and peaceful experience. In the area, you will find Reinheimen National Park, Geiranger and Herdalen Landscape Conservation Area, several nature reserves, and the UNESCO fjord Tafjord.
The Sunnmøre Alps & Stranda
We also have a spectacular and easy hike on Strandafjellet that is worth checking out! Stranda is located in the middle of the majestic mountains Sunnmørsalpane and has numerous opportunities for nice hikes. With a short distance from city center to the mountains, Stranda is a good starting point to experience the area with snowshoes on your feet.
