Basic avalanche skills.

One day avalanche awareness course

You love skiing powder and are interested in skiing more offpiste but avalanches intimidate you. This is the course for you. A one day, introduction to avalanche and mountain safety.

Your course will start at the Stranda ski resort and, later on during the day, you might put on climbing-skins to go on a short tour outside of the resort. Throughout the course, we will focus on recognizing avalanche terrain and travelling through it safely. As a bonus, you will get some turns in Scandinavia’s Powder-Paradise. Expect both theory lessons and practical exercises.

Our courses are primarily held in the area around Stryn and Stranda, but we have the possibility to arrange courses elsewhere on demand.

Our instructors

Our staff has been working in the avalanche industry for the last 25 years, through guiding, education and ski patrol work. Our head instructor, Oscar, is an avalanche expert certified through CAA (Canadian Avalanche Association) and is still one the only instructor certified to this level in Norway. All our other instructors are certified either through SLAO (Svenska liftars arbetsorganisasjon), AAA (American Avalanche Association), CAA or Norsk Fjellsportforum. You can trust us to deliver high quality, up to date and pertinent courses.
