Slogen 1564 masl – alpine hiking
The narrow and steep Mt. Slogen is one of the region most famous summits along with Mt. Skåla. You only need to reach the summit you understand why!
«One of Norway’s finest summits for hiking – UTE summer issue 2012»
We can hike Slogen from either Stranda or Øye based on what suits you best.
This is a fairly demanding trip and you should allow for a full day to reach the summit and back. Prior hiking experience isn’t mandatory but we highly recommend it.
From the Stranda side, we are following a trail into Liadalen. After a few hours, we’ll see Patchellhytta and Slogen towering above us. Only once we reach the foot of Slogen does the steep climb begins. From there, we follow the two distinct “camel humps” before we take up the last ridge to the summit.
The view from the top of Slogen into Hjørundfjorden is magic! For those with fear of heights, we may recommend you another trip. It’s quite narrow up there!
What do our clients say?
“Havard was an excellent guide who ensured that our family experienced a glacier hike as well as seeing some of the wonderful waterfalls and views in the area.” – Shelly Tamalunas, Hiking 2015
The views from the top are a one of a kind!
