This kayak and hike trip is not a walk in the park, it´s 2 days with kayak and 2 days with hiking trips to beautiful summits. But if you are in a normal shape, sporty and have a positive attitude, it´s no problem for you.
First day of this kayak and hike trip: Meet up with the guide and your kayak!
On Thursday morning you meet up with your guide down at our activity center, get ready, put the kayaks into the fjord and start paddling all the way towards Molaupen, where we are suppose to spend the night. We’ll paddle narrow the coastline and under bridges and cross Storfjorden, on our way to Hjørundfjorden. If we are lucky we may see some wildlife, some porpoises or eagles!
Then, we’ll paddle passling coastal landscape, stop along the way for some lunch before gliding into a magical fjord and reaching Molaupen where we’ll spend the night. We’ll put up our tents and enjoy a good dinner with a stunning view over the fjord!
Second day of this kayak and hike trip: let’s hiking!
Friday morning we`ll eat a good breakfast before we jumping in our kayak and starting paddling to Trandal. Here we’ll switch from kayak to hiking gear and start to make our way to the summit of Trandalhatten. This is a long, steep and airy mountain with a stunning view.
We will have lunch break along the way and be in an absolutely breathtaking environment.
We will finish the hike and go back down to the fjord where we will have dinner and spend the night in our tents.
The little extra! If the group want we can visit Christian gaard, a farm that has been rebuild into a guesthouse with serving. So if you want there is the possibility of a cold beer before we go to rest before tomorrow’s trip with kayak AND hike.
Third day of this kayak and hike trip: it’s time to conquer Saks!
Saturday we will start the day with a big breakfast before jumping into our kayak and paddling all the way to Urke.
Arriving in Urke, we will begin todays hike to Saksa. This trail has been rebuilt by Sherpa’s and is now in really good conditions and contains a couple of steeper sections to get your heart pumping. The last part is actually stairways built in stones picked from the mountain.
From the summit of Saksa we will get to enjoy a breathtaking view over Hjørundfjord and we can also see all the way out towards Ålesund.
After a lunch break at the summit we follow the trail back down to the kayaks. When we reach the fjord we will put up our tents and enjoy a good dinner. From the campsite you can look up on mountains like Skårasalen, Slogen and tomorrows goal Saksa.
In Urke they have their own small pub, called Urke kaihus where we could enjoy a well-deserved beer after a good day of kayak and hike !
Fourth day of this kayak and hike trip: Time to round up and get back to society!
Sunday is the last day of this kayak and hike trip so we will enjoy a long and good breakfast, maybe take a swim in the fjord and above all take the time to enjoy the calm of the nature before going back to society…
We will put the kayaks into the fjord and get ready to paddle to Øye, the end of Norangsfjorden. Here we will be the end of this amazing kayak and hike trip. From Øye we will drive you back to Ålesund, to Brosundet where we will finish our trip at our Activity Center.
