{"id":22391,"date":"2025-02-26T12:34:51","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T12:34:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uteguiden.com\/?p=22391"},"modified":"2025-02-26T12:34:51","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T12:34:51","slug":"wilderness-first-aid-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uteguiden.com\/en\/wilderness-first-aid-course\/","title":{"rendered":"Wilderness First Aid course"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are happy to announce that we will organize a Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course at Stranda, April 28-29.<\/p>\n<p>This practical course is offered through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.siriusmedx.com\/en_CA\">SIRIUSMEDx<\/a> and is designed for people working in guiding, outdoor recreation and remote areas, or participating in outdoor activities in areas cut off from easily accessible medical help. The course focuses on learning practical skills, decision making and the specifics of the environment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.siriusmedx.com\/en_CA\">SIRIUSMEDx<\/a> is a Canadian company based just outside Montreal, and has been offering this and similar courses since the 1990s.<\/p>\n<p>This Wilderness First Aid course is an internationally recognized course in the tourism and adventure sector, and a common minimum requirement for those who want to work with guiding. This, or a similar course, is the minimum requirement we set for our guides as well.<\/p>\n<p>The instructor for the course is Nicolas L\u00e9tourneau, who is a senior instructor at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.siriusmedx.com\/en_CA\">SIRIUSMEDx<\/a>. He has been teaching for them for the past 15 years across Canada. With his certification, he is able to teach all courses from 2 to 10 days long (WFA to WFR courses). We are lucky to have Nicolas as a ski guide during the winter season in Uteguiden.<\/p>\n<p>The course runs over two long days and has a total duration of 20 hours.<br \/>\nStart Monday morning April 28 at 08.15.
