2.5-day ski touring course
Learn the basics of ski touring and avalanches
With this course, we will give you as a participant an introduction to ski touring and alpine skiing so that will be easier, more fun, and safer to plan and carry out your own tours later on. We have a basic introduction to the equipment we use, advantages and disadvantages of different types of equipment, etc. In addition, there will of course be a focus on avalanches, buddy rescue and learning to use avalanche forecast. Route selection both on the map and out in the field is also an important topic during these days.
We have two days out on a trip in the mountains, where the goal is to learn as much as possible. The first evening is a theory session, where we go over the equipment and trip planning and get a good start on the course together.
Who is the ski touring course suitable for?
This course is aimed at skiers who do not have much previous experience from ski touring. This means that you don’t need to have previous knowledge of ski touring, but it is a prerequisite that you have skied alpine/slalom or snowboard before. Our aim is always to adapt the ski touring course to the participants’ wishes and requirements.
For those of you who want to join the more thorough five-day summit course, we will also spend more time assessing snow stability, snow profile and stability tests. Here we have five full days out on a trip in the mountains, where the aim is to learn as much as possible.
