Uteguiden is looking for more boat captains and guides
Uteguiden AS is the leading guide company in Møre og Romsdal. We organize tours year-round for guests from all over the world, ranging from simple kayaking, cycling, and hiking trips to week-long excursions on the road or in the mountains.
In the spring of 2024, we acquired the RIB operations of 62Nord with the goal of investing even more in this product! We are looking for more people who want to work as boat captains and guides.
The main season is from June to August. We are looking for you who want to work throughout the 2026 summer season, preferably from May to September. Shorter periods may also be of interest for on call.
The job as a boat captain and guide
As a guide at Uteguiden, you will become part of an experienced guide team that always goes the extra mile for our guests. Your daily work involves guiding the various RIB tours we offer in Ålesund. In addition, we operate sightseeing tours to Hofseth's aquaculture visitor center from Valldal using the electric boat, Hofseth Zero.
Your responsibilities
- Guiding and operating boat tours from Ålesund, and occasional tours from Valldal
- Sharing the nature, culture, and history of the area.
- Daily tasks involving cleaning, maintenance, and inspection of the boat and equipment
- Working with our team to develop new tours and experiences.
- For those with other relevant experience/competence, guiding other activities is also an option.
We are looking for the following qualifications
Essential:
- Minimum D5L recreational skipper certificate
- Basic safety training certificate
- Crisis management and human behavior training
- VHF certificate – ROC is a mandatory requirement for operating RIBs in Ålesund
- Valid medical certificate from a maritime physician
- Valid first aid course
Preferred:
- Driver's license class B
