Stranda is centrally located in Møre og Romsdal county and is a perfect starting point if you want to participate in local activities in the area or travel to places such as Valldal, Ålesund, Hellesylt, or Stryn. You can also find Norway’s own “powder paradise” Strandafjellet ski centre and experience world-class skiing here.

Stranda is also called Norway’s “ham capital” – approximately 50% of all smoked-cured ham sold in Norway is produced at Stranda. The whole production of the popular pizza Grandiosa also takes place here.

Stranda is often characterized as “a world-class village” and has a unique location between majestic mountains and deep fjords. Strandafjellet is perhaps Scandinavia’s best ski area, whether you prefer to go downhill on groomed trails or sign pristine mountainsides. You will remember the view on your way down for a long time!

In Norway, Stranda is mostly known as an eldorado for skiing, but the village also offers other exciting activities all year round. Outside the winter season, you can take the gondola to the viewpoint at 1062 meters altitude and enjoy the view of Storfjord and Stranda. If snow is not your cup of tea, you can choose from a number of other activities – kayaking in Storfjorden, hikes to famous mountain peaks such as Slogen, or excursions to the world-famous Geirangerfjord are some examples. There are many possibilities!
